October 17th - Pumpkins Carvings into a Jack O'lantern.

Pumpkins Carvings into a Jack O'Lantern is mainly associated with Halloween and was named after the phenomenon of strange flickering lights over peat bogs, called ignis fatuus or jack o'lantern. To make a Jack O'Lantern the top of the pumpkin is cut off and the inside flesh is scooped out and a spooky face is carved into the skin. After carving, a lit tea-light or candle is placed inside the pumpkin and the top is put back into place.
