Topiary Back in Vogue
Topiary has become increasingly popular and trendy in recent years and our aim at TopiaryGarden is to help transform your garden or a special occasion with the revived beauty of topiary design.
Be the envy of all your neighbours with an impressive, modern topiary form. Most importantly, topiary is an eco-friendly way to decorate your garden or to promote your company.
The Art of Topiary
As an art, topiary seeks to control the growth of a plant so as to form from it the shapes we desire and then to maintain those shapes once achieved.
The aim is to increase the surface density of the design – to promote a very even and close finish on the exterior and a strong and relatively rigid structure beneath.
To maintain the creations optimum sharpness of outline for the longest period, one should cut the growth off at the end of the growing season in late summer.
Beware of trimming in adverse weather conditions though, as some varieties such as Box (Buxus sepervirens) can be severely damaged if cut during icy periods.
Dating back more than 2000 years, and particularly popular between the 16th and 18th centuries, when many of the grand palatial residences were built, TopiaryGarden offers you the chance to add a touch of aristocratic glamour to your own personal garden.
